Finding my way in the bitter coldness to this deserted marine research ship in the harbour was most likely my salvation. The diesel generator provides enough heat to stay warm for now. I also found a battery operated radio transceiver. I’ve tried to find any transmissions and to send out my own calls. All that I’ve heard on that radio has been white noise and occasional static, not a single human signal seems to be out there. And if there are, the radiation in the atmosphere most likely blocks even the possible close ones.
